Oppo A78 Price In Nigeria & Specifications
The Oppo A78 is the latest addition from Oppo to their A-series line-up. It comes in two beautiful colour variants, Glowing Black, and Glowing Purple which you can choose from.
The size looks compact but not too small, I really like the aesthetics, and I think it’s worth the price set by Oppo.

Unboxing Experience
The Oppo A78 phone comes with some extra stuff. Besides the phone itself, there’s a nice phone case that’s not transparent, and I really like it. There is also a USB A to USB C charging cable and a thick charging adapter.
Design & Build Quality
Oppo didn’t remove the headphone jack, which I expected them to do. It’s still there at the bottom along with a microphone and a USB port. The power button and volume controls are on the right side.
The fingerprint sensor is under the display and lights up where you should put your finger, which is a very good feature. It’s fast and works well even if your fingers are a bit wet.
There’s nothing on the top because the second speaker is on the front above the screen. The phone looks simple and clean, with two camera circles on the top left and a text inscription that says “Innovative AI Camera“. The phone isn’t that small, but it feels comfortable to hold, and the design is simple.
The IP54 rating for dust and water resistance is one of the major selling points of this device. You can hardly see smartphones at this price point with certified IP ratings.
Display
The display on the Oppo A786 is a 5.43 AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The display looks good with vibrant colors and true blacks. Everything on the screen appears as it should.
Scrolling and moving around the menus feels smooth because of the 90Hz Refresh rate. If you don’t like how the screen looks, you can customize it to make it look the way you want. But I personally like the default Vivid color mode it comes with.
Processor, RAM & Gaming
The chipset inside the Oppo A78 is the Snapdragon 680 which is a 6nm chipset. It’s not the fastest processor available right now, but it’s designed to work well and save energy. This processor is made using advanced technology, which makes it efficient and improves battery life.
Gamers will be happy with the Adreno 610 GPU, which might not be the best, but it can handle most games at medium graphics settings and uses less power, so gaming doesn’t drain the battery too quickly.
The 8GB RAM it comes with helps in Multitasking, so this device can handle different tasks efficiently at the same time. There’s also an option to add another 8GB of “virtual” RAM, which can help even more.
Battery Life & Charging
The Oppo A78 Sports a 5000mAh battery capacity, with a decent battery life. You can get up to 8 hours of screen time on heavy gaming, around 20 hours of screen time if you are watching movies or other media content, which is very decent in my opinion.
If you are someone who does only basic things like making calls and playing music, it can take a day and a half before you need another charge.
The Oppo A78 also comes with a 67-watt Fast charging, which can actually charge it from 0-100% in less than 1hr. I have seen devices with great battery life and also those with good charging speed, But it’s really hard to find the two combined in one device. I must say, Oppo really tried in this aspect.
Camera & Video Recording
This phone has a main camera with 50 megapixels and a secondary camera with 2 megapixels. The main camera takes detailed and accurate colored photos. In well-lit situations, you can see a lot of detail even when you zoom in.
The front camera also does well when there’s a lot of light, so just make sure you’re facing the light source for better selfies. When it comes to video, it records at a maximum of 1080P and has electronic image stabilization (EIS), which helps make your videos less shaky when you’re moving around.
Verdict
Oppo A78 has one of the fastest battery charging out there, combining good battery life and charging is one of the things we rarely see from phone manufacturers. Let me know in the comment section if you are going to buy this device and why you are getting it.
