Design and Build Quality
The iPhone 15 Pro is a very sleek and lightweight device, when I weighed it, I got 187g and it measures up to 8.3mm in thickness. Its front and back, made of Corning glass, and the grade 5 titanium frame not only make it light but will also ensure that this device is durable.
The IP68 rating for dust and water resistance on this device will have it survive under 6 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
Display
The display is a 6.1-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
The display is 0.6 inches smaller than that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This display comes with a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels, and you get as high as 2000nits of peak brightness.
Using this smartphone outdoors on sunny days will not be stressful, you will see all the tasks you performing on this device clearly. One aspect iPhones are beating other devices from other brands hands down is their brightness.
Software, Processor & Performance
The iPhone 15 Pro runs on the latest iOS 17 and is powered by the Apple A17 Bionic chipset, which is the first 3nm chipset to come with any smartphone. So many other brands might start rolling out 3nm technology, but that should be from 2024.
We all know that performance has never been a problem for Apple smartphones, so the iPhone 15 pro delivers as expected.
Camera
The iPhone 15 Pro has a triple-camera setup on the rear Just like the iPhone 14 Pro. It comprises a 48MP wide-angle lens with sensor-shift optical image stabilization, a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
A TOF 3D LiDAR scanner enhances depth sensing for photography and AR applications. The device offers an array of video features, including 4K recording at various frame rates, Dolby Vision HDR, and a unique 3D spatial video mode.
On the front, there’s a 12MP selfie camera that delivers excellent results, especially in well-lit conditions.
Verdict
In my own opinion, I didn’t see any major upgrade from what we had last year, apart from the introduction of the USB Type C. The performance of the A16 Bionic Chip on the iPhone 14 Pro is similar in performance to the A17 on the iPhone 15 Pro.
If you want to upgrade from the iPhone 13 Pro to the Latest 15 Pro, it is a good decision, upgrading from the 14 Pro makes no sense to me. But If you have money to throw at Apple, you can still consider this device.
