The Infinix Hot 12 Play is one of the best smartphones you can get at a cheaper price in Nigeria. It comes with a large 6.82-inch display size with the latest center punch hole notch design and a smoother 90Hz screen refresh rate.
These are big upgrades from the previous Hot 11 Play model and you still get it at almost the same price.

Unboxing Experience
As usual, Infinix never disappoints in giving us a complete unboxing experience. We get everything in the box, including a pre-applied screen protector. It has a well-built glossy plastic design with reflective dual-tone textured patterns. I like the shiny camera design and the small bump. It is a fingerprint magnet, and you need the case to keep up its appearance.
Design & Build Quality
The Hot 12 Play comes in variety of colours which include: Racing black, Horizon Blue, Daylight Green, and Champion Gold.
At the right are the volume buttons and power button. The left has the triple card slot tray, and I’m glad to see the USB Type-C port in a low-budget smartphone.
There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and it works pretty well with good unlock speed. Face unlock is also present and works fine in the dark.
Display
It is surprising to see the popular center punch hole notch design in the Hot 12 Play, because this kind of display is actually found in more expensive smartphones.
The autoflip provides a cinematic viewing experience thanks to the larger 6.82-inch display size. It is also comes with a smoother 90Hz screen refresh rate and faster 180Hz touch sampling rate at this price point.
Processor, RAM & Multitasking
The Infinix Hot 12 Play Sports the MediaTek Helio G37 chipset with a high-frequency clock speed of 2.3 gigahertz, which is known to deliver good multitasking and gaming experience at this price point.
There are minimal lags, which is expected, but Infinix added the popular memory Fusion technology to increase the 4GB RAM size to a 7GB RAM size, which will further improve the stability and multitasking performance.
Battery Capacity & Charging
The large 6000mAh monster battery size in the Hot 12 Play with Infinix Power Marathon AI technology should get you two to three days of battery life depending on usage and settings.
I got about 16 hours of screen-on time with 4G mobile data, which is amazing. It’s hard to exhausted the battery in a day. It comes with a standard 10-watt charger which charges the battery up to 100% in under three hours.
Camera Specs
The Infinix Hot 12 Play has a 13-megapixel dual rear camera, and at the front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Images taken are quite clear with decent dynamic range, and their special levels are quite good. But there’s a little bit of yellow tint in skin tones sometimes, which I believe should be fixed via software updates.
The videos are capped at 1080p resolution for both the rear and front cameras. The video quality is quite good for the price points.
Conclusion
Just Like I said earlier, the price of this smartphone made me wonder if infinix is aiming for profit here, because everything here is too good to be true.
