Xiaomi 13T Price in Nigeria & Specifications

The Xiaomi 13T is a great phone, and it’s not just me saying it without reason. It’s cheaper than the new Google Pixel 8 and Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. If you’re searching for other options, the 13T is definitely worth considering.

Xiaomi 13T Price in Nigeria

The Xiaomi 13T costs around ₦429,000 in Nigeria. It comes with the essential accessories as usual. The charging brick is 67 watts. I got the meadow green, which has a glass rear finish, just like the black. There’s an Alpine and Blue version with a vegan leather finish with a nicer feel.

Design & Build Quality

I like the design and how it is shaped. The camera bump is designed in the same shape as the phone itself. If you pay attention to those details, I think that’s a nice touch. It has a flat frame and can stand comfortably on its bottom or top frame should you ever require such a use case.

It accepts dual nano SIM cards, and there is no SD card slot. Thankfully, it comes with 256GB of internal storage, which I would say is fair.

The display is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Not sure if it’s the same Gorilla Glass 5 on the back, won’t be attempting to find out. For security, it employs an optical fingerprint scanner, which works really well.

Display

The phone’s display is exactly the same as that of a flagship. It is an AMOLED panel, with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and an impressive 144 Hertz refresh rate. What I love most about this device is its peak brightness of 2600 nits, the highest on a smartphone right now, as far as I know.

Using it outside on a sunny day won’t be a problem. The 144 Hertz refresh rate is higher than the usual 120 Hertz, making the screen incredibly smooth.

You can choose between 60 or 144 Hertz in the settings, with 144 Hertz being the default. However, it doesn’t always stay at 144 Hertz; it switches between 30, 60, 90, and 120 Hertz, mostly staying at 120 Hertz. The smooth scrolling you get on this smartphone is more like what you’d expect from a high-end phone, not a mid-range one.

Software & UI

On the software, it came with MIUI 14 on Android 13. Xiaomi promised 4 years of OS upgrades for this one.

You get that smooth experience with animations and all its lovely features, but every now and then you might get notifications from the themes app or other system apps. Nothing that can’t be handled by restricting the notification access, though.

Processor, Performance & Gaming

The Xiaomi 13T is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra processor, which is guaranteed to offer flagship performance. It is not on the level of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it still falls in the category of flagship processors performance-wise.

It’s a 4nm chipset and doesn’t just offer high benchmark scores but also guarantees gaming at high frame rates. Now the likes of PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile are able to reach max frame rate settings whilst providing high graphics performance.

PUBG Mobile offers you Ultra HDR graphics while allowing an Ultra frame rate. You can also get an extreme frame rate if you drop the graphics performance one level or get 90 FPS if you set the graphics to smooth.

Call of Duty Mobile lets you play at very high graphics settings and max frame rate or Ultra frame rate if you set graphics to medium. You could say the Xiaomi 13T offers arguably the best gaming performance you can find on mid-range devices around its price.

Battery Life & Charging

It comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that lasted me for a full day, even with heavy gaming. The 67-watt charging it comes with would charge it very fast should you need a quick boost.

Camera & Video Recording

The camera is a triple rear setup of a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP 2x telephoto camera, and a 12 MP ultra-wide. The selfie camera is 20 megapixels. The Xiaomi 13T video performance in low light is what impressed me the most about its cameras.

It looks really good, has nice detail, and nice colors, handles darker areas quite well, and also good stabilization. It actually exceeded my expectations. It also does great with daytime videos, shooting 4K at 30 fps.

There are two like modes in the camera, and you can choose between authentic and vibrant. It is at the top right corner of the viewfinder, so it’s easy to miss. The images from the rear cameras come out great, and you should find them satisfactory on human subjects.

However, it seems to smooth in the image sometimes, especially with portraits. There are times when it comes out as sharp as I prefer. The selfie camera also produces really good results. I like the sharpness, skin tones, and colors on the selfie video.

The max you’ll get is 1080p 30 fps, which you might find disappointing because at this price point, while it’s good value for money, 4K from the selfie camera isn’t that difficult. I’m sure the processor is capable, but you get what you get.

Verdict

The 13T is a solid one from Xiaomi. I like its competitive pricing and the value it offers in terms of performance, build quality, and cameras. It is only different from the Xiaomi 13T Pro because of the more powerful Dimensity 9200+ chipset on the 13T pro and it can also record 8K videos.
